Use YouTube Live Events instead of Stream Now!

18 Mar 2019 - 22:43

The new version of the CamStreamer 3.0.6 application offers new preset services that use YouTube Events.

This allows you to:

  1. set up planned events that will start and end on their own (YT Events has its own automation independent from other servicies)
  2. display countdowns for planned events
  3. embed videos in selected playlists
  4. create video descriptions and tags directly in the CamStreamer environment
  5. check streaming status with the help of the Watchdog service
  6. stream 24/7
  7. turn stream on and off via an external button connected to the camera
  8. permanent link and permanent player available (useful in case of stream stop/start/failure)
  9. change privacy, title and description without stream interruption within application

If you have already configured YouTube Stream Now! services, they will remain in your Stream Manager after upgrading to the new version. But, if you remove them, they cannot be added again.

If you need to keep streaming via YouTube Stream Now!, use the “RTMP ingest server (Universal)” service and fill in the URL address, which is made up of the “Server URL” and “Stream name/key” that can be found at YouTube -> Creator studio -> Live streaming -> Stream now in the “Encoder setup” section.

Stream name/key: abcd-e1f2-ghij-33kl

Media server URL: rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/abcd-e1f2-ghij-33kl
